Kristan Alfonso, MD, joined Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University as
Assistant Professor in Pediatric Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in summer
2019. She came to Georgia from Houston, where she completed her fellowship
training as a pediatric otolaryngologist at Texas Children’s Hospital.
Prior to her fellowship, Dr. Alfonso earned a medical degree from the State
University of New York Upstate Medical University, followed by residency training in
otolaryngology at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
Dr. Alfonso has experience and interests in the field of pediatric otolaryngology,
including but not limited to sensorineural and conductive hearing loss, cochlear
implantation, chronic ear disease, microtia and ear reconstruction, abnormalities of
the external ear, nasal and sinus disease, salivary gland disease, airway disorders, as
well as congenital and acquired head and neck masses.
