Rebecca Friedlander, PA-C

Rebecca is a Physician Assistant with over 15 years of clinical experience, bringing a rare combination of critical care expertise, surgical subspecialty depth, and an instinct for knowing when it's time for the next challenge.

Her journey into medicine began in Physical Therapy. While working on the wards at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, she discovered the PA profession - and the appeal of a broader, more autonomous scope of practice was immediate. She went on to complete her graduate training at George Washington University, where a critical care rotation in her clinical year became a defining moment: caring for the critically ill was exactly where she was meant to be.

Rebecca launched her PA career at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in the WICU - notably as the only PA among a team of NPs - and spent the years that followed in SICU environments at Hopkins and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. In 2016, she made the leap to Chicago, and pivoted her clinical focus to general surgery before subspecializing in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

This year marked another bold transition: Rebecca stepped away from the bedside for the first time in her career to join IQVIA where as a Clinical Science Liaison she provides education on Johnson and Johnson MedTech’s Ethicon suture line.

When she's not navigating new professional terrain, Rebecca can be found exploring Chicago's restaurant scene or chasing her next adventure somewhere around the globe.
